About Smart Materials Solutions
Smart Materials Solutions (SMS) is an innovation-driven company specializing in thermal insulation products for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The company was established in 2018 with the aim to provide high quality water tank thermal covers, SmartShield water tank thermal jacket and pipe insulation. With our customized and efficient solutions, we have earned the trust of thousands of domestic and industrial clients. Our team is led by our foreign-qualified CEO, a PhD in Aerospace Materials from Netherlands, with over 19 years of research and teaching experience.
Due to best quality product designed on scientific basis, Smart Materials Solutions have successfully launched a joint venture in Oman for our SmartShield Water Tank Thermal Jacket. Our plan is to expand our reach and impact across other Gulf countries.
Due to increasing demand of an innovative long-term solution, Smart Materials Solutions introduced a smart water tank InsuTank (a water tank with built-in insulation) – the first of its kind in Pakistan. InsuTank was designed and built through extensive research and development process. In addition to insulated water tanks (InsuTank), we are also dealing in overhead plastic water storage tanks of different brands which include Dura Water Tanks, Turkplast Water Tanks and Master Water Tanks.
Due to diversified expertise in insulation materials, we have expanded our offerings to other applications including geyser thermal covers, car thermal covers, AC outer unit thermal covers, water bottle thermal covers, window thermal covers, Jumbolon (XPS board) and Thermopore (EPS sheets) for insulation of poultry sheds, roof & wall insulation of domestic & commercial buildings.

Founded by Dr. Saleem Iqbal, Smart Materials Solutions is built on a foundation of scientific knowledge and through proper research work. The company emerged from a deep understanding of how inefficient insulation leads to hidden costs and resource depletion. In hot climates, people often drain overheated water and refill the tank with fresh supply, wasting both water and electricity. During cold seasons, geysers consume extra energy to heat chilled water. Likewise, buildings without proper insulation force air conditioners and heating systems to work harder. These issues not only increase utility bills but also deplete natural resources.
Smart Materials Solutions was established to address these challenges through customized & innovative solutions that maintain stable temperatures, reduce reheating cycles, and minimize the need for water replacement—all while improving comfort and lowering energy demand.
